ALDO and JCPenney team up for ‘Call it Spring’ new line of shoes

Truly it’s collaboration season. Earlier we posted about celebrity tie-ups with stores like- Britney Spears for Candie’s, and Madonna’s Material Girl collection for Macys. Now it’s time for something new!

JCPenney is going to become the exclusive department store retailer in US for the ‘Call It Spring‘ brand by Canadian shoemaker Aldo. Aldo Bensadoun, Chief Executive Officer of The Aldo Group, said that the group is thrilled to join forces with JCPenney for this new brand. Targeted towards 15-30 year-old consumer, Call It Spring will be home to men’s and women’s footwear and handbags that reflect up-to-the-minute trends. With an extensive collection and prices ranging from $29.99 to $69.99, Call It Spring will significantly expand JCPenney’s offering in footwear and accessories.

Similar to highly successful Sephora inside JCPenney beauty boutique, the Call It Spring shop-within-a-shop concept will be part of JCPenney’s overall commitment to create unique selling environments, providing customers with even more reasons to shop at JCPenney than ever before. This will continue with launch of MNG by Mango, JCPenney’s exclusive fast fashion concept unveiling this fall. Over the last few years, JCPenney has continued to create accessibility to sought after brands for men and women including Liz Claiborne, which will be exclusive to JCPenney this August, ALLEN B. (by designer Allen Schwartz), I “Heart” Ronson (by designer Charlotte Ronson) and JOE Joseph Abboud.

Call It Spring will launch as a shop-within-a-shop concept – covering over 600 sq. ft. shop in Women’s and over 400 sq. ft. shop in Men’s department. This brand will provide customers an extensive collection of over 300 styles of on-trend footwear and accessories – all at compelling prices.

The concept is set to launch this fall in JCPenney’s Manhattan store, expand to 100 JCPenney stores, on in spring 2011, and then to an additional 500 stores in fall 2011. Also stores will also be carrying Call it Spring brand. JCPenney will be the only department store retailer to carry Call It Spring collection outside of The ALDO Group’s specialty stores.
